Hi, I’m Susan Smith
Have you ever found yourself doodling in random places? On a scrap of paper while on the phone, in the margins of a handout or book, your planner or calendar. Maybe you draw the same pattern over and over. I came across the Zentangle Method several years ago during a stressful and sad time in my life. I kept coming across step-outs of patterns, that I quickly learned were being referred to as Zentangle patterns. The more I searched for these patterns, I discovered so much beautiful art combining these simple patterns.
I started following other CZT’s on YouTube and Instagram. I absolutely fell in love with the method and idea behind it. I considered becoming a CZT but let it fall by the wayside. In 2024, I finally decided to go for it. To say it was a wonderful experience would be an understatement. The Zentangle community is made up of so many thoughtful and talented people from all over the world. Meeting the Zentangle staff was just as I had imagined.
So, what is the Zentangle Method, you ask?
To put it simply, the Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. "Zentangle" is a registered trademark of Zentangle, Inc. Learn more at zentangle.com.
